Canoeing at the Klamath River

On July 9th, scouts traveled to Klamath River to learn how to white-water canoe for 5 days. Canoe West provided the instruction and training to our scouts and adult chaperones.  The scouts were paired up in a canoe with the beginner in the front of the canoe, and the more experienced one at the back. The scouts learned about the equipments, and just as important how to paddle, steer and recover when the canoe topples over. It was fun, except when the mosquitoes swarm!
